Agreement to Terms

By using RoadBound ("App"), operated by RoadBound LLC, a Florida limited liability company, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part, you may not use the App.

Description of Service

RoadBound is a social platform for overlanders, rig builders, truck campers, and travelers. The App provides a social feed (Campfire), ephemeral photo/video sharing (Moments), an interactive map with points of interest (Explore), vehicle profiles (Rig), community forums and guides (Discover), meetups and clubs (Gather), direct messaging, social connections (Crew), AI-powered trip planning (Scout), vehicle diagnostics via OBD-II Bluetooth scanners, voice input, track recording with GPX export, and optional premium features via RoadBound Pro subscription.

Account Registration

• You must be at least 13 years old to use RoadBound
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• One person may only maintain one account

User Content

Your Content

• You retain ownership of content you post (photos, text, videos, etc.)
• By posting, you grant RoadBound a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content within the App and related marketing materials
• You are responsible for your content and must have the rights to share it
• You may delete your content at any time, which will remove it from the App (subject to reasonable caching and backup delays)

Moments (Ephemeral Content)

• Moments are automatically deleted from our servers after 24 hours
• Other users may screenshot or save your Moments before they expire; we cannot prevent this
• You are responsible for content shared via Moments, even though it is temporary

Forum Content (Discover)

• Threads, replies, gear reviews, and guides posted on Discover are public and visible to all users
• You grant RoadBound the right to display, categorize, and index forum content for search and discovery
• Upvotes, bookmarks, and engagement metrics on forum content are public

Content Guidelines

You agree NOT to post content that:

• Is illegal, harmful, or threatening
• Harasses, bullies, or discriminates against others
• Contains explicit sexual content or nudity
• Promotes violence or illegal activities
• Infringes on intellectual property rights
• Contains spam, misleading information, or deceptive content
• Shares others' private information without consent
• Intentionally provides false or dangerous POI data (e.g., marking private property as public land)

Acceptable Use

You agree to:

• Use the App only for lawful purposes
• Respect other users and their privacy
• Not attempt to access other users' accounts
• Not interfere with the App's operation or infrastructure
• Not use automated systems, bots, or scrapers
• Not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Not impersonate other users or entities
• Not use the App to stalk, harass, or threaten others

Direct Messages

• Direct messages are private between conversation participants
• Abusive or harassing messages may be reported and will be reviewed by our team
• We reserve the right to suspend messaging privileges for users who violate these Terms

Crew Connections and Blocking

• Crew connections are mutual — both users must accept
• You may remove a crew connection at any time
• You may block any user, which will prevent them from viewing your profile, content, and sending you messages
• Blocked users will not be notified that they have been blocked

Clubs

• Clubs are user-created groups within the App
• Club creators are responsible for moderating content within their clubs
• RoadBound reserves the right to remove clubs that violate these Terms
• Club membership and content are visible to other club members

RoadBound Pro Subscription

• RoadBound Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks premium features including unlimited Scout trip planning, Scout Memory, Smart Nudges, expanded Convoy group size, club creation, GPX export, and offline maps.
• Subscription Options: Monthly ($9.99/month) and Annual ($79.99/year, save 33%)
• Payment: Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
• Managing Subscriptions: You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or through the App Store.
• Free Trial: If offered, any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Refunds: Refund requests must be directed to Apple, as they process all payments. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Price Changes: We may change subscription prices. You will be notified in advance and must agree to the new price to continue your subscription.
• Feature Changes: We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove Pro features. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes.

AI-Powered Features (Scout)

• Scout is an AI-powered trip planning assistant. It uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude) to generate trip suggestions based on your input.

• Scout does not replace professional navigation, weather forecasting, or emergency services
• Trip plans generated by Scout are suggestions, not guarantees. Actual conditions may differ significantly.
• You are solely responsible for all travel decisions, regardless of Scout's recommendations

OBD-II Vehicle Diagnostics

• The OBD-II feature connects to your vehicle's diagnostic port via a third-party Bluetooth adapter (not provided by RoadBound)
• RoadBound is not responsible for any issues, errors, or damage related to OBD-II scanner use, including but not limited to: incorrect readings, adapter malfunction, or vehicle electrical issues
• OBD-II data is used to improve trip planning accuracy; it should not be used as a substitute for your vehicle's built-in gauges or professional mechanical diagnosis
• If you enable "Share Fuel Data," you consent to anonymized fuel economy data being shared with the RoadBound community

Voice Input

• Voice input uses Apple's on-device Speech Recognition
• By using voice input, you consent to Apple's speech recognition processing
• Voice data is processed on your device and is not stored by RoadBound

Points of Interest (POIs) and User-Generated Location Data

Meetups and Events (Gather)

• RoadBound facilitates connections but does not organize, sponsor, or endorse meetups
• Users participate in meetups entirely at their own risk
• We are not responsible for the conduct, safety, or actions of participants at user-organized events
• Exercise caution and good judgment when meeting people from the internet
• Meetup organizers are responsible for the accuracy of event details they post

Assumption of Risk

Rig Profiles

• Vehicle information you share on your rig profile is public and visible to other users
• You are responsible for the accuracy of your rig data
• Do not share sensitive information (e.g., VIN, license plates) on your public rig profile

Explore Map, Navigation, and Location Features

• Location sharing is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time
• POI check-ins and saved locations are stored in your account
• Map data, directions, trail routes, and routing information are provided for informational and recreational purposes only and may not reflect current road conditions, closures, or hazards
• Always use your own judgment, carry backup navigation, and verify conditions when traveling to remote or off-road areas
• RoadBound is not a substitute for professional navigation systems, offline maps, or proper trip planning
• You are solely responsible for your navigation decisions and travel safety

Convoy (Live Location Sharing)

• Convoy allows real-time location sharing between group members during a session
• The convoy organizer may generate a public share link that makes participants' locations visible to anyone with the link
• By joining a convoy, you consent to sharing your real-time GPS position with other convoy members and, if a share link is active, with anyone who accesses it
• RoadBound does not verify the identity of convoy members — exercise caution when sharing your location
• You may leave a convoy at any time to immediately stop sharing your location

Intellectual Property

The RoadBound name, logo, wordmark, and design elements are trademarks of RoadBound LLC (USPTO Serial No. 99672475). You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission. The App's source code, design, and architecture are proprietary.

Copyright Infringement (DMCA Policy)

RoadBound LLC respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and will respond promptly to notices of alleged copyright infringement.

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that content on RoadBound infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our Designated Agent containing:

• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative
• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
• Identification of the material on RoadBound that is claimed to be infringing, with enough detail to locate it (e.g., a link to the post or the username and description of the content)
• Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email address)
• A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf

Counter-Notification

If your content was removed due to a DMCA takedown notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to our Designated Agent containing:

• Your physical or electronic signature
• Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal
• A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
• Your name, address, and telephone number
• A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or the Middle District of Florida if you are outside the United States) and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original DMCA notice

Upon receiving a valid counter-notification, RoadBound will forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not file a court action within 10 business days, we will restore the removed content.

Repeat Infringer Policy

RoadBound will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat copyright infringers. A user may be considered a repeat infringer if they receive three or more valid DMCA takedown notices. We reserve the right to terminate accounts with fewer notices in cases of egregious or willful infringement.

Disclaimers

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RoadBound and its affiliates, officers, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to: loss of data or profits, personal injury, property damage, vehicle damage, or any harm arising from your use of the App, reliance on POI data, participation in meetups, or interactions with other users.

RoadBound is not liable for any costs, charges, or fees incurred through subscription purchases, including accidental renewals. Manage your subscription through Apple's Settings.

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against RoadBound.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RoadBound and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another user.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion for violations of these Terms, abusive or harmful behavior, or any reason we deem necessary for the safety of our community. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings (You → Settings → Delete Account). Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Dispute Resolution

You and RoadBound agree to first attempt to resolve any disputes informally by contacting us at legal@roadbound.app. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, you agree that any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Hawaii, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

You agree that any claim or cause of action arising from your use of the App must be filed within one (1) year after the claim arose, or be permanently barred.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, USA. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Hawaii.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Apple's Standard Terms

• This App is licensed, not sold, to you
• Your use of the App is also governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
• In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA shall prevail with respect to your use of the App obtained through the App Store

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
